About Farrier Science
Farrier science is the science behind shoeing horses. There are many important factors to consider when manufacturing horseshoes. Some examples include the purpose of the shoe, comfort, mobility and durability. Professional farrier's also have to be able to repair and customize horseshoes for each hoof.

There are many intricacies involved in this hands-on trade craft. For this reason, a school with more than 50 years of experience is an ideal candidate for training you on becoming a professional farrier.

The four-and-a-half-month course at the Colorado School of Trades can train you how to build, repair and customize horseshoes. In addition, our horseshoeing school can teach you several other aspects of the business of horseshoeing. A few examples of course material include anatomy, keg shoes, corrective shoeing and handmade shoes.

You will spend time using the tools and working on live animals in and out of the classroom. With our mobile farrier shop, we can travel to any of our customers in the Denver-Boulder-Golden area in order to provide the hands-on experience for our students.
