The
mission of DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management
Online is to foster student learning through high-quality, career-oriented
undergraduate and graduate programs in technology, business and
management. Keller was founded in Chicago in 1973 on the idea that
the most important components of management education are effective
teaching and student mastery of practical management skills. The
first class had seven full-time students. By the late seventies,
some 900 Keller students were pursuing their MBA's in an evening
program introduced in 1974. Today, more than 9,000 course takers
benefit from the School's educational offerings. In light of industry
shifts within the Chicagoland area, Keller opened four suburban
centers by 1980. The first site outside the Chicago vicinity opened
in Milwaukee in 1983. When Keller acquired the DeVry Institute system
in 1987, it provided an impetus for the School to broaden its geographic
presence and program offerings. Today, Keller offers its practitioner-oriented
curricula at sites coast to coast, as well as through Keller Online.
